About us

Our Country

LEF2017
The Netherlands, It may be a small country in size, but certainly not in impact. It is famed for its liberal social policies, maritime trading traditions, battles to hold back the sea, robust multiculturalism and leading technological communications, making Dutch lifestyle a mosaic of cultural intrigue. Let us show you places you haven’t been to before!

LC International

Lions Clubs International (LCI) is the world’s largest service club organization with 46,000 clubs and 1.4+ million members. The members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.

Lions 100

In 2017, the Lions organization will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Nearly 100 years ago, Melvin Jones’ vision became a reality when delegates of the first Lions club met to inaugurate what would become an international movement to improve the lives of vulnerable people around the world.

Leo Clubs

Leo clubs provide young people with an opportunity for development and contribution – individually and collectively – as responsible members of their local, national and international communities. Leos are people in the ages between 18 and 35 who, just like Lions, have two club meetings per month.

Leo Europa Forum

LEF2017
The Leo Europa Forum is the biggest annual Leo event in Europe. It’s about friendship, (socially and personal) development and sharing experiences: Leo’s can work on personal development, by sharing their knowledge and skills with each other and for charity, while becoming (better) friends.

Orga Team

LEF2017
LEF is being organized by Dutch Leos and Lions who want to offer the participants the possibility to get to know (more about)  The Netherlands and specially to learn from each other by creating and maintaining friendships. Find out more about the members of our team on this website. Would like to get in touch with us? Feel free to reach out!

About The Netherlands

LEF2017
LEF2017
LEF2017
The Netherlands has been the host of the Leo Europa Forum once before in Veldhoven in 1981.
Over 230 Leos from alla cross Europe have been able to enjoy the wonderful program that the LEF 1981 orga team had to offer.
In 2017, 36 years later, the Leos from The Netherlands want to show their guests lots of eccentric and special landmarks that regular tourists usually don’t visit.
On top of that our guests will be able to serve community by participating in memorable social activities.

Lions Clubs International (LCI) is the world’s largest service club organization with 46,000 clubs and 1.4+ million members. LCI is also one of the most effective. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.

Mission Statement

Vision Statement

To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.

The Netherlands consists of six districts which together form the Multiple District 110 (MD110). There are more than 11.500 members gathered in more than 420 Lions clubs. Furthermore there are around about 15 Leo clubs, nicely spread all over the country.

Lions 100

In 2017, the year that The Netherlands is hosting the Leo Europa Forum,  the Lions organization will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Nearly 100 years ago, Melvin Jones’ vision became a reality when delegates of the first Lions club met to inaugurate what would become an international movement to improve the lives of vulnerable people around the world. Jones’ devotion to service embodied the values that have grown Lions Clubs International into the world’s largest service organization. His vision carried Lions Clubs International into the 21st century and his legacy will propel it into the next.

Leo Europa Forum

LEF2017
“Truly discover the Netherlands and each other through a unique Leo Europa Forum!”

Mission

The Orga Team wants to offer the participants the possibility to get to know (more about) The Netherlands and especiallyspecially to learn from each other by creating and maintaining friendships. We believe that a Leo Europa Forum is about friendship, development and sharing experiences. Leo’s can work on personal development, by sharing their knowledge and skills with each other and for charity, while becoming (better) friends.

“Inspire all participants to become LEF ambassadors by organizing a memorable Forum!”
Vision

LEF’s long term goal is to maintain, or preferably gain, the number of active LEOs and LEF-participants. We want to organize a memorable Forum which inspires people to become more active for the Lions organization and for charity work, but more important we want LEF participants to become LEF Ambassadors!

Why 2017?

In 2017 the Leo Club Program will celebrate its 60th anniversary and Lions Club International will celebrate its 100th anniversary. During the Leo Europa Forum 2017 several activities en festivities will be organized to honour this joyful occasion.

General information

The Leo Europa Forum (LEF) was established in 1976 with the purpose to bring together Leos from all over Europe and the Mediterranean together once a year. Every year Leos from on average 20+ different nationalities attend the forum, which lasts eight days (from Saturday to Saturday). In addition to the Leo Europa Forum every hosting country is organizing a Leo Europa Pre Forum (LEPF, a short 3-day program) in the beginning of the year.

At LEF we aim to exchange charity activities, ideas and experiences on a European scale to strengthen the Leo movement and expand good initiatives across Europe. During the forum several Lions Clubs International topics are being discussed, the joint development of our organization and of course, the implementation of international activities beyond borders. Moreover several activities are being organized for personal and organizational development.

As the LEF constitution states: The Leo Europa Forum gives an opportunity to meet Leo’s from other countries, to find foreign friends and to get to know other European countries. It shall be an occasion to exchange experiences and ideas for the LEO program.

Sponsoring

Social Media Workshop (NL)

Half Marathon

Join us for a run through Amsterdam for charity in Oktober 2016!
2017 is the year in which the Leo Club Program celebrates its 60th anniversary and Lions Clubs International (LCI) its 100th anniversary. LCI has chosen four centennial pillars: Environment, Hunger, Youth and Vision. In October 2016 the LEF 2017 Orga Team together with Leos, Lions, friends and family will take part in the Amsterdam ½ marathon to raise money for a foundation named Het Vergeten Kind (The Forgotten Child) as to give substance to the centennial goal YOUTH.
With the money we collect the foundation and the Leo Europa Forum 2017 will organize a social activity during the forum in August 2017 for dozens of Dutch children that have been taken away from their families due to severall circumstances. Next to that part of the money raised will be spend on the LEF 2017 participants’ cultural acquaintance with The Netherlands.

Statie-geld Actie (NL)

LEF2017
